Dr. Marquita Gittens-St.Hilaire

Dr. Marquita Gittens-St.Hilaire is a lecturer in microbiology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill and former Director of the now defunct Leptospira Laboratory. Specializes in molecular diagnostics of infectious diseases, particularly arboviruses, leptospirosis and has an avid interest in the investigation/epidemiology of multidrug resistant pathogens genotypic and phenotypic characteristics. Member of CaribVet Net Technical Working Group, American Society of Microbiology, Caribbean Association of Clinical Microbiologists and Chair of the CariVectNet Technical Working Group.

Allica Holder

Allica is a Medical Technologist attached to the Ministry of Health- Vector Control Services in Guyana. She pursued a BSc. Medical Technology at University of Guyana and was trained to diagnose Leishmaniasis via old standard method. She managed to complete two surveys coordinated with PAHO, CDC and Government of Guyana to end Lymphatic Filariasis. She is currently assisting with the Government Covid-19 Laboratory to conduct PCR testing. Her hobbies are reading, going on nature adventures and singing. Anselmo Mathew

Anselmo Mathew was born and raised in Aruba. In 1996 I left Aruba to further my studies in the Netherlands at the Institute of Life sciences & Chemistry (BSc) in Utrecht and the Vrije Universiteit (MSc) in Amsterdam. Emory University in Atlanta, GA gave me the opportunity to complete my internships there. I returned to Emory University to gain more work experience as a MSc graduate. Upon my return to Aruba I started working in the Department of Public Health as a Policy Officer and shortly afterwards was given the secondary tasks of the Laboratory, Bio safety & Bio security Focal Point.

Marcia Robinson-Walters, MT

Marcia Robinson-Walters resides in Grand Cayman. She is currently employed at the Health Services Authority Hospital Laboratory as a Generalist Medical Technologist. She also serves in the capacity of Laboratory Safety Officer and Team Lead for the Microbiology Department. She serves on varying Hospital committees such as the, Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and Safety Committee. She is a member of the Caribbean Association of Medical Technologists (CASMET), and the American Medical Technologists (AMT) and serves in varying capacities in the Caribbean Regional Council. She achieved her BSc in Medical Technology at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Other achievements include Postgraduate Diploma in Laboratory Quality Management, Michener Institute, Canada, Master of Public Health at the University of Liverpool, and Masters in Business Administration, University of South Wales. She is a dedicated, hardworking Laboratory Scientists, who strives assiduously to use her training and experience to contribute to providing quality health care.
